This wombat has a wonderful volunteer Anne to thank for relieving his suffering from mange. The treatment was mainly delivered using burrow flap on a property near Mongarlowe. The first photo was taken on 15 June when treatment was started. The wombat had advanced mange, was severely emaciated and completely unaware of her surroundings. The second photo was taken on 23 June and although she still looks shabby with her coat to yet grow back, the crusty plaques have come off to reveal healthy skin, she has put on some weight, and she has lost that horrible hunched up posture that mangy wombats have. She is starting to look like a normal wombat. Although her initial treatments are finished the plan is to continue them at low dosages to prevent reinfection as she is one of three wombats on this property being treated.
