Description
Merlin is an Eastern Grey Kangaroo joey, currently in care at BurrumBah Wildlife Sanctuary.
Merlin is a second-generation joey, which means his mother, River, was a rescue and released into the wild after rehabilitation. River lived in the wild for 14 years, occasionally returning to her carer, at Whiskerwood Sanctuary, for a free meal or to show off her latest joey.
River lived a good life as a wild kangaroo and when it was her time to go, she returned to her carer one last time. Unfortunately, River’s current joey, Merlin, was not big enough to survive on his own, so he also had to come into care.
Merlin is doing very well in care and will eventually, in turn, be released into the wild to continue his mother’s legacy.
