Living in the Southern Tablelands ignited my passion to contribute to the protection of our unique wildlife. I first joined WIRES in 2005, rescuing in general, and raising orphaned wombats, then I volunteered at the Southern Cross Wildlife Hospital, and found NARG just prior to the Black Summer
fires. I’ve assisted NARG as a wombat carer for a short period and then on the NARG committee and as the NARG representative on the NSW Wildlife Council; which is the peak body and advocate for the wildlife rescue and rehabilitation groups. We need fundamental change to support the amazing
volunteers that dedicate their lives to giving our native animals a second chance.
